Music Ensembles

Traut offers two music ensembles, the choir and chimes choir. Each year, the ensembles alternate taking place in the spring or fall semester. Mr. Chen will provide information about one of the ensembles in the first week of music class and the other during the last week of the fall semester. If you have any specific questions, you may ask Mr. Chen via email at tchen@psdschools.org.

Choir

The “Music from the Core” Choir is an ensemble available to all interested 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. The students commit to two 45 minute rehearsals per week.  During rehearsal, members work on learning vocal techniques, performance etiquette, and building a musical repertoire.

Chimes Choir

The Chimes Choir at Traut is an auditioned performance group comprised of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. The ensemble can accept up to 22 students.  Members commit to one hour long rehearsals twice per week.  Rehearsals focus on reading music designed for chimes, and the unique techniques needed to perform on this instrument.
