I grew up in Star Valley, Wyoming just south of Jackson Hole in the amazing Rocky Mountains. I am from a large family and have 8 brothers and 3 sisters, so you can imagine the fun times we had outdoors, playing sports (we could field whole teams) and just growing up together. My husband and I live in Windsor, and we have two children. Sam who is a senior at UW in Wyoming and Emily who is a junior at UNM in Albuquerque. I have always loved school and kids, so teaching was a natural fit for me. I am grateful to the amazing teachers I had in my life. They helped me discover a passion for learning, crafting, building and traveling. I love to create, and some of my favorite gifts I've recieved are my nail gun and miter saw.
My degree from the University of Wyoming is in Elementary Education with a concentration in visual and performing arts and I have taught in Wyoming, Ohio and Colorado.
This is my 8th year with Poudre School district. I have been a kindergarten para, substitute teacher and teacher. I love working with the 1st graders here at Traut.
Traut provides an exceptional environment for learning and exploring our world. The Traut staff and community are kind, thoughtful and do such a great job of honoring and celebrating all learners. The expectations and standards of achievement are set high and it is exciting to see our students soar.
My classroom is a kind and happy space where students come to learn and build friendships and community. We are on an adventure together, discovering the tools of confidence, creativity, critical thinking, curiosity, exploration, practice, and patience that will help us become lifelong learners that LOVE to learn. Our space will always be welcoming and supportive of all who walk through our door!
