Biographical Sketch

I am in my 9th year as a Kindergarten Para at Traut.  I love it! I assist the All-Day Kindergarteners with a variety of things throughout their day. I have lived in Ft. Collins since 1987 when I came from WI to attend CSU.  I did my undergraduate and graduate studies at CSU focusing on Psychology, Youth and Human Service Agency Administration and Child Development.  My wonderful husband (who also works for PSD in security,) and I have a college aged son and daughter.

What I like about Traut is

What I like about Traut is that the children seem to feel as though it's a home away from home.  And, it shows that all of the staff are happy in their daily jobs.  What I like about MY job at Traut is that I get to work with my favorite age of children!  Five and six is a 'magical age' in my opinion! Also, there is the fact that I am surrounded by a great administrative staff and great co-workers.

Hobbies & Interests

In my spare time, I enjoy taking daily walks, occasional reading and fishing, lots of cooking and baking, and spending time with my husband and family and friends. And, in the summer I spend some time with the love-hate relationship I have with my gardening tasks!

My favorite books and authors are

Five people you'll meet in Heaven by MItch Albom, is one recent favorite book.

Favorite Quote

I love the quote/poem :

Children learn what they live, by Dorothy L. Nolte.
