Biographical Sketch

My husband and I have been in Fort Collins since we came to CSU for college.  We married after our senior years and now have 6 kids, 2 son-in-laws and a grandbaby on the way!  I have an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with an emphasis in Child Development, from CSU and a Masters in Elementary Education from Regis University.

What I like about Traut is

I love that students are the focus at Traut.  I also believe strongly that families are the most important unit in society, so having parents actively involved in the lives and learning of their children is something special!

Hobbies & Interests

I love to travel and be with my family.  We enjoy bike riding and I like reading and walking our dogs, Paisley, Moxie and Lexie.  I play the piano and love music.

My favorite books and authors are

I love reading children's books and series!  The Penderwicks are my favorite fictional family and I love The Lemonade War series.  I enjoy Robert Fulgrum's short stories, and have written two published works myself.

About My Classroom

My philosophy has three important tenants: all students have the ability and right to learn; collaborative teams of both educators and students can have a great impact on student growth and achievement; and partnership with homes, families, community members, and peers give students the long term structure to be successful.
