First Grade

Welcome to first grade. This is a busy and exciting year for students. Our goal is to make learning fun and engaging for children. We use the Core Knowledge Sequence and the Colorado State Standards to guide our teaching. Below are highlights for the year:

  • Ancient Cultures including Mesopotamia, Egypt, Aztec, Inca and Maya
  • US History from Columbus to Lewis and Clark
  • Modern Mexico
  • The study of the solar system
  • Human body systems
  • Animals adaptations and offspring
