Biographical Sketch

I started my teaching career at Irish Elementary in Fort Collins. I taught 4th, 6th, and 3rd grades. From there, I moved to Washington Core Knowledge School (currently Traut) and continued teaching 3rd grade. A few years later, when my second daughter was born, I took a break from teaching and became a stay-at-home mom. All three of my children attended Traut from kindergarten through 5th/6th grades. Many of the teachers they had are still here today. I came back to Traut 6 years ago, and it was like coming home! I feel very blessed and fortunate to work in such an incredible school with amazing students, a supportive administration and staff, and our parent partnership.

My husband Robert and I have 3 young adult children. Nicole works in Data Science/Analytics in Columbus, Ohio; Ashlee will graduate from Oklahoma State University in May with a degree in Elementary Education; and David just began studying engineering this fall at Northeastern University in Boston.

What I like about Traut is

The thing I like best about Traut is our Character Qualities.

About My Classroom

I teach math to Traut's advanced 3rd, 4th and 5th grade math students. We love to have meaningful conversations about math, learn from each other, and work together to challenge ourselves and become amazing mathematicians.

In third grade we move through the 3rd grade enVision curriculum at a faster pace than the regular classroom. We incorporate the M3 gifted curriculum and challenging math games, as well as Menu Projects into our year too.

My 4th and 5th grade advanced math students are on an accelerated path for math. Fourth grade students learn the 4th grade enVision curriculum and part of the 5th grade curriculum. In fifth grade, students learn the rest of the 5th grade curriculum and all of the 6th grade curriculum. Both grades also utilize the M3 gifted curriculum, challenging math games, and Menu Projects as a part of their learning.
