Battle of the Books is a team reading comprehension program. The goals of BOB are to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, broaden reading interest, increase reading comprehension, and promote academic excellence.
Each year, between six and eight books are chosen for Poudre School District elementary students in each grade level 3-5. Parent-led teams consisting of four or five students within each of these grades, read each of the books, discuss them, quiz each other on the contents, and then compete with other Traut teams in the Battle of the Books tournament at the end of February. One team from each grade level then represents our school at the District Battle of the Books Competition in April.
